With everything from salary data to software admin access, to direct chats with the founders and ability to expense what they need. 


We believe nearly everyone will return the trust with great responsibility. Those that prove deliberate bad actors we will serve as leaders by guiding out of our ecosystem. 

We have seen start the deliberate practice of cultivating positive freedom and enkrateia, “the foundation of all virtues”, enabling No Moss to rely on self-management as a replacement for power hierarchies.

We give anyone the power to decide any policy (e.g. expenses, hiring, social media marketing) at No Moss; via the advice process with reference to our values.

We give people the financial backing to do the things they want; we give them coaching of people more experienced; we give them equipment, and office, friends and training to get them where they need to be.

Why? So they can be the best they can be. So they can be faced with tough, seemingly impossible challenges. So they they can grow.

Why? Because we believe that they can be trusted. We believe they will act in good faith and step up to the huge responsibility that this entails.

Why? So that they can pass it on. So that they create within themselves an abundance. So that they can share that abundance with others.

Education and employment are not currently in places that enable us to practice positive freedom, thus many people are learning to walk with these skills for the first time since childhood, encountering:

  • akrasia vs. enkrateia (self control)

  • hyperbolic discounting

  • reason vs. emotion

  • weakness of will
